Re: MPP prefers phone calls over Twitter rants, April 1
Sure, we all hate social media and yet still millions of Canadians use it every day. Our desire to share our joys, accomplishments, frustrations and thoughts on Twitter or Facebook appears to be limitless.
That is why there isn’t a politician elected today without the strategic use of social media.
Sometimes people go too far, and that is unfortunate.
While it can help politicians get elected, it’s not a great tool for governing. Our MPP Dave Smith has learned firsthand that when voters are upset by cuts to programs, they wish to express their discontent immediately. Who can blame them for using the same platform this government has used to spread its conservative message.
